Jamaica Livestock Association Limited, on November 24, approved the appointment of Albert Walker as assistant company secretary.
Leadership change at JEA
The Jamaica Exporters' Association (JEA) has selected Vitus Evans, an attorney-at-law, as its new president.
Evans, who was elected to replace Michael Lumsden at the association's 44th annual general meeting on November 26, was formerly treasurer of the JEA.
He also served on two of six board committees: executive, and finance and administration.
The JEA has a membership base of 213 exporting companies, including 10 that joined in 2009.
New communications head at Sunset
Charmaine Deane
Charmaine Deane has been appointed director of corporate communications, a portfolio that covers public relations and promotions, community relations and human resources support for the company's international and on-island sales teams, Sunset Resorts has announced.
Deane previously held the position of director of sales administration for the last four years.
Sunset called Deane, who has two decades of experience in the hospitality sector, "a pillar of stability" in the hotel company.
Her track record includes running the 56-room Runaway Bay Heart Hotel and Training Institute as its general manager for three years, and nine years in various positions with the Renaissance Jamaica Grande Resort and Spa.
That hotel is now a Sunset-branded property owned by the Hendrickson family.
Sunset Resorts owns and manages some 1,200 hotel rooms at various properties in Jamaica, with the 730-room Jamaica Grande, in Ocho Rios, as the largest among them.
Its other holdings include the 430-room Sunset Beach Resort & Spa, in Montego Bay, and the 65-room Sunset at the Palms in Negril.
