Rex departs Mayberry, new research manager hired

Tania Waldron-Gooden has been promoted to senior manager, research and special projects, at Mayberry Investment Limited.

Waldorn-Gooden, who has been with Mayberry Investment for approximately three and a half years, took over the research portfolio following the resignation of Rex Shettlewood, former senior research manager.

She will be responsible for providing financial advisory solutions for clients which includes IPOs, business valuations, as well as local and international market research.

Shettlewood's tenure with Mayberry ended November 12.

Waldron-Gooden joined Mayberry as a management trainee and worked her way up the ranks to the post of manager, business development and special projects.

She was previously a pension officer at Capital & Credit Securities Limited.

Jim Westlake, new chairman of RBC Caribbean

W. James Westlake, group head, International Banking and Insurance, Royal Bank of Canada, will head the board of RBC Financial (Caribbean) Limited, parent company of RBTT Financial Group.

Westlake assumes the chairmanship from Peter J. July, who retired November 10, after a 52-year career at RBTT, RBC said in a release.

Westlake is responsible for RBC's banking businesses outside Canada as well as the organization's global insurance and credit card businesses and is one of nine executives who set the overall strategic direction of the RBC group.

He was chairman, president and chief executive officer of RBC Insurance from 1995 to 2004, and was, up to his current posting, group head of banking inside Canada, with responsibility for retail banking and the bank's global insurance businesses.

Sagicor appoints operations chief

Richard Kellman, an actuary by profession, has joined Barbados-based Sagicor Financial Corporation as group chief operating officer and has also joined the insurance conglomerate's board of directors.

The appointment took effect November 1.

Kellman, who has a background in finance, investments, insurance and pensions, is noted as the first executive officer for the Caribbean Court of Justice Trust Fund, from which the operations of the nascent regional court is financed.
