SAN ANTONIO (AP):

A 'polite' message on a motorcycle in the San Antonio area is not meant to be confused with 'police'. But Gary Grimes said some people see it that way and drive more cautiously.

Grimes rides his white motorcycle about 25 miles from Poteet to the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he teaches staff how to be better supervisors.

Grimes bought the vehicle two years ago and noticed the style was similar to San Antonio police motorcycles.

Grimes told KENS-TV that he had decals saying 'polite' made and put them on his bike. A closer look shows the word 'be' is also part of what a driver ahead of him would see by looking into the rear-view mirror.

Grimes said he just tries "to be nice to everyone".
