De'Lanche gets a taste of the 'Easy Life'

Every artiste hopes for that big break in the music business, especially if he or she has been on the scene for some time. That thrill has finally come for singer De'Lanche, who is enjoying some success with the song Easy Life.

The lovers rock number has been getting reasonable 'spin' on mainstream radio since it was released early this year. It is good news for the Spanish Town-raised De'Lanche, who has been performing since he was a student at Ensom City All-Age school.

"At the shows I've been doing, a lot of people acknowledging mi because of the song. It is overwhelming," he said.

De'Lanche (real name Richard Dunn) has waited for a long time for that kind of reception. He recorded his first song, Do It Right, nine years ago for producer Keith Clark's Music Addict label but it saw little action as did its follow-up, Still In Love.

Producers

Easy Life was recorded on the Lifestyle beat, produced by the Portmore-based Get Up Yute Records which has brothers Milton and Kevin Campbell and music industry veteran Donovan Josephs as principals.

Although the song has not been a big hit, De'Lanche says its presence on the airwaves has done a lot for his confidence after years of paying his dues in the trenches.

Influenced by lovers rock champion Beres Hammond and Rhythm and Blues singers like R. Kelly, the lanky vocalist has kept busy, recording follow-ups to Easy Life, including Murderer and Show You Love.
