Age: 23

Stats: 34-26-39, weight -

141lb, height - 5' 10"

Kiri-Ann comes from a line of honorary nation builders - her grandmother, Dr Joyce Robinson, was the first Jamaican director of the Jamaica Library Service. She also founded JAMAL and HEART and was the general manager of the now defunct JBC during the introduction of colour television to Jamaica.

Her grandfather, Professor Leslie Robinson, was the vice-chancellor of the University of the West Indies (UWI). He was the first principal of the UWI Cave Hill campus and founding chairman of the University of Technology. Her grandparents were the first husband-and-wife couple to receive the Order of Jamaica award.

Kiri-Ann is currently a student at the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the UWI. Her ambition is to be a successful medical doctor in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology. In five years she plans to be a resident in the obstetrics and gynaecology post-graduate programme at UWI.

She most wants to meet the founders of the non-profit organisation Doctors Without Boundaries as it combines the two areas of her life that she is most passionate about - medicine and outreach.

One of her proudest moments was when she safely delivered her first baby as a medical student.

Kiri-Ann's personal statement: "I am a sincere, trustworthy, caring, loving, vibrant and fun-loving person, very family oriented with strong Christian values. I am also a fourth-year medical student dedicated to improving the standard and availability of health care in Jamaica."

Name: Stephanie Hazle

Sponsor: Optimum Care

Age: 20

Body Status: 34-26-38, weight -

131lb, height - 5' 7"

Stephanie Hazle. Remember this name as in another five years this beauty could be dazzling audiences under the bright lights on Broadway

On Tuesday, August 11, Stephanie won the Miss Jamaica World Talent Fast Track Competition held at the Fiction nightclub, and what a performance it was. She sang her heart out for the audience and judges doing a piece from the Broadway play My Fair Lady. Copping this title secures her position as a top-10 finalist at the coronation show on Saturday at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel.

This university student is no stranger to the performing arts as she has been a recipient of a Jamaica Musical Theatre Company scholarship and last year was nominated for the Prime Minister's Youth Awards for Arts and Culture.

Stephanie has also received voice training under the tutelage of renowned singer Noel Dexter and Georgia Schliefer.

It, therefore, should come as no surprise that Stephanie's two favourite singers are performers who are known to belt out their notes and sing from the soul - Whitney Houston and Anita Baker. She says she admires former Miss World Lisa Hanna, whom she considers an ideal role model because she continues to challenge the stereotypes of beauty queens by achieving much outside of that arena.

Her ultimate ambition is to achieve international status as a performer and use her achievements to help pave the way for other talented Jamaicans. She would also like to own and operate a performing arts centre for children.
